Although the investor visa is valid for a maximum of 6 months, you must report the completion of the investment (with supporting documents) to the competent authority no later than 3 months after your first entry into Hungary, and in 3 months after you received your visa. If this is not done on time, your visa will expire.
The law stipulates that you must hold your investment for at least 5 years. At Biggeorge Fund Management Plc. there is a 3-months window in every 5 years to redeem fund investments. For more information, please click here.
Even if you sell your investment, your residence permit remains valid for 10 years. In order to obtain an extension for a further 10 years, you must again have an investment in accordance with the law.
There is no minimum period of residence in Hungary for holders of a guest investor residence permit. You do not have to use your residence permit and there is no risk that it will expire as a result. You do have the right, however, to move to Hungary (with all qualifying family members involved in the process), and spend an unlimited amount of time here.
